Washington DC
Prior to this I worked as Lead Creative for WestLake Consulting Group,
a small interactive agency in
Washington DC, where I designed for clients ranging from the US Department
of Education & Bowling
Green State University, Ohio (a distance learning community website)
to the intranet for the US Mint.
I was responsible for the complete re-branding of the company in 2000,
prior to my return to the UK.
The branding collateral, which included
a brochure, letterhead and folder, was given an Award of
Excellence from
the Printing & Graphic
Communications Association and Certificate of Merit from
the Printing Industries
of America.
Before moving to Washington DC I worked as a senior-level design in
Toronto, Ontario for an online
learning start-up company and as a freelance designer in Vancouver, BC.
In 1997 I returned to college
to obtain a post-graduate Diploma in Applied Information Technology from
Capilano College in
North Vancouver, British Columbia, awarded in 1998.
Tokyo
From 1991 to 1995 I worked in Tokyo, Japan designing print work for corporate
clients including
Tokyo Metropolitan Government, Embassy of Canada, Embassy of Australia
and the Japanese
Foreign Ministry.
Early training
I began work as a designer in London working on books and partwork magazines
for various publishing
companies including Marshall Cavendish, Mitchell Beazley and Dorling
Kindersley. During my time at
Marshall Cavendish I worked on various magazines which allowed me to
get involved in styling and
directing photo shoots for covers and interior pages.
My interests include reading, painting, walking my two dogs - Digby
and Baxter - and listening to a wide
and eclectic mix of music ranging from Bach and Handel to Snow Patrol,
Seth Lakeman and Duffy.
